T O P I C R E V I E WEighthMoonI read this article and thought that her method using chart rulers was interesting. I checked out one, and yes...it was a work contact with his chart ruler in my 10th.I also wondered if anyone else has ever had a reading from this person? http://home.earthlink.net/~astrology/who_am_i_to_you.htm 8thLaravery interesting Thanks 8thjaneI do find her method very interesting, and I will add it to my repertoire. I already look at house rulers, but not as systematically as she instructs.I was, however, very disappointed that she's one of those Neptune = deceit, disillusion, and all things bad type of astrologers. Grrr. Why oh why would a planet be wholly bad? With only 10 planets, there's a limited number of archetypes. Why would one be wholly about illusions? I don't think confusion and deceit are strong enough parts of the soul to have a planet dedicated entirely to signifying them. Neptune is about imagination, the non-material parts of existence, the spiritual. So yeah, that played out negatively can bring lies and confusion, but like any planet it can play out positively as well. Why do so many astrologers ignore that? It's not that hard to grasp. I'm sorry to rant, and I really do like her technique, but that Neptune treatment makes me so angry. Neptune's not a saint, but it's not a sinner either. The way she describes it, me having Neptune cnj my Sun in the 2nd house makes me think I missed my true calling as a con-artist. But instead of claiming to be a Nigerian princess, I use that energy artistically. Art's a type of illusion, but one that informs us instead of confusing us. I can see how Neptune makes me shy and more private than most people (to a silly degree), but like any planet, it brings good and bad.Grr, grr, grumble, grumble.janeTo carry on about a minor point of her essay even further ...She talks about t.Neptune showing a lie, that when it's around some sort of deception is occurring. When my mom died, t.Neptune was exactly opp my n.Moon. With the whole Moon = mother connection, what "deception" about my mom did that transit indicate? To me, that transit shows that her earthly incarnation dissolved. That it's the illusion of a structured, material existence that is the "deception." But if that's the case, Neptunian spirituality is just as, if not more, real as material reality.I promise to stop ranting now. MyVirgoMaskWow, thanks, Eighthmoon, I really dig on this article...I'm trying to wrap my mind around it and it's confusing, probably because I'm still pretty new to astrology. I'll probably re-read it a few hundred times Jane, I agree about the Neptune thing...I think it can be perceived also as creative inspiration, and taking it wholly as delusion and lies is a bit limiting. ------------------"The greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do. "EighthMoonHey Jane ,You can rant on my threads all you want, Baby!I agree with you. I basically view Neptune as a benefic. In transits, like other things, I think the square might add a note of deception, but like everything else, it's a different form that the energy is expressed in. It's what we do with it that counts.Did her method work as far as defining your SO in your chart?Hello MyVirgoMask ,When you said:"I'm trying to wrap my mind around it and it's confusing....I'll probably re-read it a few hundred times"My response is "Welcome to my world!" I'm a Pisces Mercury and I almost always have to do this until I can "absorb" the information. I'm blessed with a square from my Gem moon to my Mercury. I think it actually helps me sometimes from being to...ummm....fuzzy! 8thMyVirgoMaskEighthmoon I think you're further ahead of me for sure here ...She's talking about the 7th house ruler, right? Now what I can't figure out is whether she's also talking about the 10th house ruler or Moon ruler as well... EighthMoonYour chart ruler is your AC. Find the location of the planet that rules your AC.(For example, if you're a Leo rising, look for the location of the sun. If you're a Libra rising, find the location of Venus.)She also looks at the 7th house ruler because that's your house of relationships.I think when she looked to the 10th, she was exploring a conjunction that the couple had and it's placement? I'll have to reread. 8thETA) Your 7th house ruler is the planet that rules the sign on your 7th house cusp or your DC.
